Dressing gowns & kimonos styling tips
After the wearable pyjama trend, dressing gowns and kimonos have also become part of what is known as "versatile dressing".
Dressing gowns are in fact not only great to lounge around the house with some cashmere socks, but they can also be styled for warm days and cool evenings.
1. With your favourite black dress
Long or short, sleeves or strapless, everyone has a favourite black dress. Next time you wear it, throw on a beautiful lightweight floral gown and you will be amazed at the possibilities you now have to complete your outfit. Tie the dressing gown, leave it hanging open to show your dress or fasten the belt at the back to emphasise your waist. Minimal effort for a great evening look.
2. With denim and a white T-shirt
Let's be honest, a pair of jeans and a plain white T-shirt are our saviours on those days we really don't know what to wear. If you'd like an extra colourful touch, you can add a lightweight dressing gown as an extra layer. This will make you look stylish and trendy even on those "I-don't-have-anything-to-wear" days.

3. Over a swimsuit
With Summer now upon us, we're hoping for good weather and pool parties. If you're planning a holiday or beach days, a dressing gown might be your best friend to create a chic poolside look. Wear it over a swimsuit or bikini and pair it with a matching headband and add a straw bag and sandals to look effortlessly chic.

If you're not a fan of dressing gowns, then perhaps a kimono is more your style. Long or short they can work as a light cover up over so many outfits.
Kimonos are longer than dressing gowns and are a great and versatile piece to own. Long kimonos can be worn with a pair of jeans and a T-shirt for an elegant yet simple day outfit or paired with your favourite trousers, blouse and pair of heels for a night out.

If you prefer a breezier style, short kimonos are just what you need in your wardrobe. They are perfect with shorts, tops and sandals on warm days or at a festival, or with your favourite trousers and blouse in the evening when it cools down.
