Thinking of You Week

What is Thinking of You Week?

Thinking of You Week is a special week, this year 21-27th September, organised by The Greetings Cards Association, encouraging the widespread sending of greeting cards to create a wave of love, caring and happiness. It's about choosing to send a physical, thoughtful hand written card, over a text or email. Sending handwritten cards generates positive feelings and wellbeing. Science has shown that receiving a handwritten card creates a lovely warm positive boost.

What a year it has been and it’s not yet over… Despite its trials and tribulations, we have all pulled together and a resurgence of dedication to love, care and happiness has become increasingly important. Thinking of you week is the perfect time to celebrate this!

We are delighted to get involved in Thinking of You week and wanted to share a few things we have been doing and how we plan to help bridge the Social Distance gap.

  1. Positive Notes
Positive Notes card range

After a tumultuous start to the year, we realised the importance of staying in touch and the need for MORE positive note cards. Mental health has been a prevalent issue in this time. A card is such a small gesture that holds such a big impact! Whether it’s a card to say; I miss you, I am thinking of you, sending you sunshine or something just to bring a smile to our loved ones' faces, receiving a little something through the letterbox has proved a must to maintain and encourage positivity both for the sender and the receiver over the past few months! We have developed our new ‘Positive Notes’ collection with this in mind. With thoughtful sentiments and bright illustrations this range will help you to stay connected with your friends and family, letting them know you are thinking of them! For October, we are also launching 6 new designs to continue spreading the positivity and thoughtful sentiments for the next few months.

  1. Thinking of you card writing in the office

Thinking of You Week Card Writing

This year is most certainly a year that will go down in history! Whilst we have returned to a degree of normality, it is most definitely a ‘new normal’ both in offices and in everyday life. Here at Caroline Gardner, we will be taking pen to paper, using our fabulous ‘Positive Note’ range, sending cards to our nearest and dearest to let them know we are thinking of them. We’ve included a few snap shots of our team ‘social distantly’ getting together to support this momentous week.

  1. Donations

Lastly, we wanted to reach out to communities to help get them involved in Thinking of You week too. We felt the best, and safest way, during this time was to set up some donations to hospitals, schools, churches and care homes.

One of our members of staff is in the congregation of the Croydon Seventh-day Adventist Church. We have donated a generous range of cards to the church to give out to their senior members/visitors and to the wider congregation who have been/still are shielding and anyone who is finding it tough during this time. The church is delighted with the donation and say: ‘The cards, along with words of comfort and encouragement from our pastoral team will be a great support to the community in this time’

We have also sent a selection of cards to a care home local to a member of staff. They are using them to send to the families of patients from the team. A great way to keep loved ones connected and informed whilst visitation is not as easy.
